European Union is a group of 27 countries and their economies are interlinked with each other Citizens of individual countries can work any where in European Union Czech Republic became a member of European Union with effect from May 1 2004 and from January 2008 Czech Republic will be further covered by Schengen Visa The Czech Republic is located in the Central Europe and it share borders with four countries namely Germany Western Border Poland Northern Border Slovakia Southern Border and Austria Eastern Border

Selected Qualified Workers are given the opportunity to apply for Permanent Residency after uninterrupted stay and work for 5 years However Highly Qualified Workers can obtain permanent residency after 1 ½ years only While standard category of qualified workers can obtain permanent residency after uninterrupted stay and work for 2 ½ years Starting from July 1 2007 Highly Qualified Workers Category includes the Pilot Project participants with university level education who are working on the positions requiring university level education and corresponding to their qualification i e education or their practice

Together with qualified workers their family members are also allowed to settle in Czech Republic and obtain residence there Under the Pilot Project if participants loose their job through no fault of their own in the first year then they are entitled to a 45 days grace period during which they do not loose their visa and their residence permit is not revoked During this grace period they are expected to search another job in the Czech Republic and in the course of following year the participants are again given the grace period if they loose their job for other reasons

For helping the persons interested in relocation to Czech Republic a consortium of WWICS GSBC and a facilitator professional company in Prague has come into existence All the three companies together ensure that the prospective immigrant gets a job offer from the employer work visa from Labour Exchange under whose jurisdiction the employer is located and residence permit from the visa post

Czech Pilot Project is a unique project which helps foreign workers from nonEuropean Union countries to obtain jobs Permanent Residence Permit in Europe especially in Czech Republic A foreigner can get work visa and do job in many countries of the world but only Czech Republic gives right to a foreigner to get permanent residence permit status in 2 ½ years The rights of project participants are also given to his family members Whats more Czech Government encourages a family to come along with a foreigner and even gives additional points for this Czech Permanent Residence Permit Status gives almost same rights to its holders as Czech Citizens excepting the right to vote and elected and allows a foreigner to integrate to Czech society After getting permanent residence permit status a foreigner can enjoy social advantages of being Czech and get grants in aid buy property and children gain right to get free higher education To participate in the project one is expected to get 25 points out of 66 points

Selected qualified workers are given the opportunity to apply for permanent residence within a shorter period after one and a half year highly qualified workers category or two and a half years standard category of qualified workers of uninterrupted stay and work as compared to the current standard period of 5 years Starting from July 1st 2007 highly qualified workers category includes the pilot project participants with university level education who are working on the positions requiring university level education and corresponding to their qualification education or practice

Together with project participants their family members will also be allowed to settle in the Czech Republic and to obtain permanent residence there

Participants who in the first year of the project lose their job through no fault of their own are entitled to a 45 day grace period during which they do not lose their visa and their residence permit is not revoked The above mentioned grace period should serve as time during which participants search for another job in the CR In the course of following years of the pilot project the participants are given the grace period also if they lose their job for other reasons

The project is open for

Citizens of Belarus Bosnia and Herzegovina Croatia Canada India Kazakhstan Macedonia Moldova Monte Negro Russian Federation Serbia and Ukraine

graduates of Czech universities coming from all countries except those who studied in the CR as part of development assistance projects provided to their home country who graduated in 1995 or later
graduates of Czech secondary schools from all countries who finished their studies and passed the school leaving exam in 2000 or later

Applicants must be secondary school graduates

Applicants must find legal employment in the CR on their own

Applicants must obtain at least 25 points in the computerized selection procedure reflecting various criteria qualification practice language skills family situation etc
